Outlook for Mac 2016 (version 15.28.1) continually asking for - Microsoft Community

i have same problem , godaddy email account. 1 of microsoft "escalation" support reps, mac office specialist, took on computer yesterday , spent on hour trying solve problem, , not able to. appears bug. did not have problem outlook mac office 2008. problem started when upgraded mac office 2016.  it annoying - request enter password pops couple times each day, not every time send mail - intermittent. and, no matter do, keeps popping up.

firstly, may know if outlook version 15.28.1 (to check this, click outlook > outlook)? if yes, i’d explain version outdated , recommend update outlook latest , see if issue persists. it, please click > check update.

 

meanwhile, noticed said affected account godaddy account. may know if it’s office 365 business account purchased fron godaddy? if yes, please perform steps below , see if helps.

 

1. make sure quite outlook , other office apps. go keychain access

2. search "exchange" under login --> items , delete

3. search "office" , delete

4. search "adal" , delete everything 

5. launch outlook

6. activation prompt , if account added see password prompt app , adal again. please 2-factor authentication if asked , should able login

 

if issue persists, i’d collect information:

 

  1. the detailed version of outlook, such 15.32(170309). this, click outlook > outlook.
  2. a screenshot of pop-up window asking password.
  3. does else in organization encounter same issue?
  4. i noticed worked microsoft engineer solve issue. please share service request ticket number checking detailed progress made. privacy concern, have sent private message collect it. can click link below access private message:
