PowerPoint can't save the file - sometimes and sometimes not - Microsoft Community


hi

i have problem powerpoint 2016.

problem:

when open specific pp-files (not of them; unfortunately can't attach 1 since confidential), change , want save, following error:

when try save again, following error:

that's problem.

setup:

windows 10 office 365.

office:

what tried far:

did not work

- open file on 3 other machines.

- machine 1: w10 1510 office 365 proplus 32bit, works!

- machine 2: w10 1703 office 365 proplus 64bit, works!

- machine 3: w10 1703 office 365 proplus 64bit, did not work... though made clean install problem on laptop.

- tried installing office 365 business version

- tried installing 64bit / 32bit

- tried clean install w10

worked

- install office 2010 (w8.1 w10)

resumee

from tried far, problem seems stick specific hardware. not sure.

and i'm out of ideas :) contact office support since believe kind of bug / error. way in contact microsoft.

information in pm. tested file side on several machines, works time.

suggest perform following steps check outcome:

1. start pc in safe mode in windows 10. if problem doesn't happen in safe mode, you'll know default settings , basic device drivers aren't causing issue.
2. have tired yoga's above suggestion? please try creating new blank presentation, copy , paste contents older presentation, try if able save .pptx.
