Recovering emails and folders - 2011 (v12.0) to 2016 - Microsoft Community

hi all. 

i have custom email address have been using outlook 2011 mail client. i'm quite @ moving emails inbox folders have created. looks me doing broke connection server, such these changes not reflected when looking @ webmail. 

the problem this. had purchase new computer , computer guys migrated data. traded old 1 in , device promptly erased. 

on turning on new 1 first time faced office asking me license key. there's no chance of me locating key purchased long ago. 

i decided purchase 365 subscription , running. on trying import profile found on computer told couldn't import because 2011 version old.

long story short managed activate 2011 outlook, having absolutely no luck in updating minimum version. i'm happy use 2011 or 2016, whichever 1 able bust open database /profile file , recover emails.

according description, understand have purchased office 365 subscription. so, recommend use outlook mac 2016 client. install client, please log office 365 portal using office 365 account , download office suites new mac machine.

 

regarding “i traded old 1 in , device promptly erased”, i’d confirm whether did not export email data old outlook mac 2011 client .olm file , format data in older mac.

 

if not, can copy identities (~/documents/microsoft user data/office 2011 identities/<profile name>) on old mac , past files new mac in same path.

 

however, if yes, experience, can’t recover email data doesn’t exist in server side.
