powerpoint 2016 taking up 25-30% cpu resource - Microsoft Community


hi,

whilst working on issue unrelated powerpoint 2016, noticed users presentations seemed take 25-30% cpu when idle 5 minutes, can make system lag.

this not machine specific , can see different devices similar spec doing same.

the powerpoint files 100 slides , reside on onedrive / sharepoint.  if save file locally, not happen.

when looking @ system resource monitor , filtering out powerpoint activity can see connects multiple ip address.  presume takes time download necessary meta-data, version history, setting collaboration etc.

we want have clarification on process.

specs:

windows 10 anniversary update

8gb ram

i7-7500u dual core cpu

no documentation available verify background process.

however, according process of elimination can confirm not happen blank documents , documents residing on local storage, same test result.

thus can safely assume resource consumed powerpoint processing data specific document.

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community

i have 3 rules in outlook 2013 installation set when email arrives check words in body, subject or header.  the rules not seem run automatically.  when run rules manually seem work fine.  i've had problem quite while.  recently, created new outlook profile did not fix issue.  i went , changed srs file srs.old did not fix either. please provide me suggestions fix. hi neil, in order isolate issue, we'd following information: have made recent changes or applied update device prior issue? which email account using? personal email account or work email account? for initial troubleshooting, suggest deleting rules , create again. this, may refer article below: manage email messages using rules looking forward response.
