Why is Outlook 2016 pinging [ICMP Type 8 Code 0 (Echo) - Microsoft Community

since installing office 365 (64-bit) on 64-bit windows 10, router reporting end-user machine sending outbound pings (icmp type 8 code 0 echo messages, length 92, variety of ip addresses (such 40.101.43.178, 132.245.57.18, 40.101.9.202, 40.101.48.66, 40.96.33.178, 40.101.45.82, 40.101.17.114, 40.101.127.82, 40.101.45.202, , many others) owned microsoft.

i assume sort of outlook 2016 / office 365 "phone home" seeking out office 365 server or sort of keep-alive or precursor sync of sort.  there seem pattern madness (such bursts of pings may coincide end-user machine coming online after being in sleep mode) have not confirmed correlating router log machine wake times.

i can tell router stop reporting nonsense i'd prefer command outlook keep quiet , stop generating useless noise on network.

it appear these pings junk because router dropping them makes me assume (1) not important , (2) form of denial of service inside network (bad behavior on part of office 365 coders?).

i found nothing in online searches.

has else observed similar noise outlook 2016 / office 365 installed on end-user machine?  if so, know how command office 365 on windows 10 quiet?  i assume it's registry tweak use pointers.

much thanks,
