Outlook 2016 for mac 15.29 cannot connect to Exchange after password - Microsoft Community


ad (and office365) password expired , reset morning. outlook 2016 (version 15.29 (161209)) cannot connect, rather patiently (over , on again) requesting password. bad password recognized such. password not appear allow outlook connect exchange.

my outlook 2011 mac client (14.7.1) connects , works fine new password.

as outlook mac 2011 connects fine new password. specific client issue. in situation, can try clear keychain , see if issue can resolved. this:

1. make sure quite outlook , other office apps. go keychain access

2. search "exchange" under login --> items , delete

3. search "office" , delete

4. search "adal" , delete everything 

5. launch outlook

6. activation prompt , if account added see password prompt app , adal again. please 2-factor authentication if asked , should able login

 

if issue persists, i’d confirm following information:

  1. does issue occur other users in organization?
  2. a screenshot of error message.
  3. check indicator dot in accounts page check connection status of account. if there problem connection, dot orange.
  4. is multi-factor authentication enabled office 365 account?

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community
