Moving e-mails from outlook 2007 to outlook 2016 - Microsoft Community

so have bought new laptop, , purchased new office software go on it.

i subscribed office 365, went onto website , installed software on new laptop (assuming office 2016 described).

after doing input e-mail account details outlook , ran test, , worked fine. sent e-mail account test received , did.

my next step transfer e-mails new laptop , new outlook 2016, these work e-mails keep record of them , therefore wanted move(migrate??) e-mails on new system.

to created .pst of personal folders old machine, , imported new outlook (this not new me, ive done many years on new machines , new software installs).

having thought everyting fine continued every day tasks.

not long after when noticed emails id imported gone, had disappeared inbox completely.

what more confusing on old system, still logged outlook, receiving emails id moved on again.

so (after very long send , receive) have 2x of each e-mail on old laptop (some 27,000 e-mails) , nothing on new laptop.

i can put down lack of understanding on how new outlook 2016 , office 365 whole works. seems far cry old 'install software , use it' system im familiar with.

the old laptop used work this; download e-mails server onto outlook , no longer available on server (through webmail).

my thought on perhaps new outlook throwing e-mails onto 123.reg server reason, , old laptop downloading them server thinks new e-mails.

i extremely confused (and annoyed, usualy have no problems 'understanding' computers , software), , cannot seem find else has described having issue on support forums.
