Office 2016 Search feature not working - Microsoft Community

since office 2016 installed week ago, outlook search feature finds 0 results on email searches, when in plain sight.

at first, before tested it, thought of unfound email had lost on installation, tried searching on email addresses or subject lines sitting there in in box - still, 0 results. baffling. obviously, search should work. ideas?
