Are there alternative formats of Outlook as in Internet based or - Microsoft Community

the topic , sub topic options forum not relate query maybe in wrong area.

i've been using outlook happily 18 years have signed office 365 , having real problems version of outlook came it.

this may seem ignorant question there 2 different formats of outlook, 1 internet based , 1 downloadable onto pc etc?

previously i've had outlook preloaded loaded or loaded via dvd onto machines. worked well

i've tried 4 week office 365 trial , again work efficiently.

i've "accepted" share son's office 365 , downloaded outlook virtually impossible use. seems if cloud or internet based i'm oftern getting "outlook not responding" message. sending small email takes ages while cursor goes round , round.

as trial 1 worked old versions i'm assuming operated software on machine. possible change whatever i'm using?

if new outlook requires decent broadband supply it's not us. not have broadband service here. country landline supplier, bt, has little interest in rural areas , supply more 0.9mbps via landline! our supply wireless, via church steeples! , provides 4 - 5mbps.
