Accessing Outlook.com via Exchange in Outlook Desktop 2016: - Microsoft Community


hi,

for reason, when connecting outlook.com, outlook 2016 desktop client on win 10 gets stuck in "updating address book" state.

rebuilding outlook desktop's profile scratch did not help. neither did safe mode have impact.

the "...appdata\local\microsoft\outlook\offline address books" folder contains hex-number-named directory, no .oab files.

the contacts folder looks ok, selecting "global address list" fails ("the requested operation cannot completed because operation not supported on object.").

any idea wrong , how fix it?

my understanding outlook.com should provide required autoconfig data outlook desktop , should "just work", there seems mismatch.

 i suspect related ms office outlook , not outlook.com (browser based) posted this.  if correct please either repost in ms office category version have using category tab @ top of page, or move thread there.

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community
