Outlook desktop icon - Microsoft Community


there red "x" on outlook icon. mean?  it didn't aappear affect operation few days, outbox won't send...

to better assist you, please clarify following information:

  • are able open application clicking on icon?
  • are using outlook express or outlook application bundled office application?
  • where red x, appear icon in taskbar?
  • do error message when send/receive emails?

the red x icon outlook/ outlook express appears when there problem connecting server.

if using outlook application version of office installed on computer?

if issue outlook application, may follow steps on link.

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community

i have 3 rules in outlook 2013 installation set when email arrives check words in body, subject or header.  the rules not seem run automatically.  when run rules manually seem work fine.  i've had problem quite while.  recently, created new outlook profile did not fix issue.  i went , changed srs file srs.old did not fix either. please provide me suggestions fix. hi neil, in order isolate issue, we'd following information: have made recent changes or applied update device prior issue? which email account using? personal email account or work email account? for initial troubleshooting, suggest deleting rules , create again. this, may refer article below: manage email messages using rules looking forward response.
