FIX | Adobe Reader DC & Outlook 2016 | "No default - Microsoft Community

hello all,

just wanted provide fix might running issue:

symptom:

when viewing pdf within adobe reader dc, 1 tries use "send mail" button (looks envelope) attach pdf newly-composed message (without having manually perform this), receives error states along lines of "no default client set" (even if outlook 2016 has been set default mail client within default programs).

fix:

condition: one must logged in account has administrative privileges.

1. open 'regedit' (windows key + r, type in "regedit" , press enter key or ok).
2. it idea perform backup of registry in case mess or things go haywire whatever reason.
   1. file -> export -> save whatever file name want, wherever want to.
3. travel "hklm\software\clients\mail\".
4. delete folder entitled "microsoft outlook" within directory navigated in step 2. yes, entire folder.
5. close regedit.
6. open control panel.
7. go programs , features.
8. repair office 2016/365 installation. perform quick repair, online repair not necessary.
9. once complete, reboot computer , test out pdfs sending outlook via button.
