Outlook 2016 Mac crashes when typing 2 special characters in send - Microsoft Community

hello,

a customer of mine has strange outlook 2016 mac problem.

- newest version 15.29.0.161209

- el capitan 10.11.6

when trying fill in email address beginning "jo" outlook crashed immediately.

other email addresses working properly, eg "jm" no problem.

creating/using contact beginning "jo" no problem

things did:

- deleting recent addresses cache: \users\<username>\library\group containers\ubf8t346g9.office\outlook\outlook 15 profiles\<profiles name>\data\recent addresses

- new empty profile has no problem

unfortunately there no option in outlook 2016 renew database - standard repair procedure such problems in 2011...

hi jürgen,

 

outlook 2016 mac stores messages , other items, such calendar events, contacts, tasks, , notes, sqlite database in /users/username/library/group containers/ubf8t346g9.office/outlook/outlook 15 profiles folder.

 

as issue little weird, not able make sure folder should deleted. avoid data loss, don’t suggest this. since have created new outlook profile, suggest export data of pop3 account, import new outlook profile.
