Outlook Indexing issue - Microsoft Community

the mediacreationtool works nice reset pc desktop. did not fix outlook indexing problem. ran tool fix ms-office 2013. did not help.

indexing options > indexing not running

and modify , pause grayed out...

clicked on advanced options , clicked on rebuild - rebuilding index might take long time complete. views , search results might incomplete until rebuilding finished. let run on 30 min.....did not work.

troubleshoot search , indexing seem not fix problem.

i did try go windows search , not start it...

i still searching fix or solution. thanks

with regard concern, suggest troubleshoot outlook instant search. resolve outlook indexing concern.

follow these steps verify indexing complete:

1. in outlook, click in search box.
2. click search tab, click search tools, , click indexing status.
3. when indexing status dialog appears, should see following:
   
   outlook has finished indexing of items.
   0 items remaining indexed.

if outlook has not finished indexing of items, note items remaining indexed, wait 5 minutes, , check again. if number of items did not decrease, continue troubleshoot using steps in following sections.

make sure outlook data included in indexing

this section shows how verify outlook data being indexed. try use windows search search words or phrases expect find in email messages.

note: this test not apply outlook 2013. outlook 2013 blocks ability search outlook items using windows desktop search.

if no email messages returned, follow these steps make sure outlook data files being indexed:

1. exit outlook.
2. open indexing options.
   • on start screen, type indexing options, click settings under search, , click indexing options
3. in indexing options dialog box, make sure microsoft outlook listed in included locations column.
4. if microsoft office outlook not listed, click modify, , click enable check box next outlook.
5. click ok.
6. click close.

to make sure outlook configured return results expected data files, follow these steps:

1. start outlook.
2. click in search box.
3. click search tab, click search tools, , click locations search.
4. click add or remove data files.
