Mail could not be received at this time. The server XXX returned the - Microsoft Community


i use outlook 15.32 (office 365 mac) connect exchange server.  message mentioned above several times day in both of macs.  deleted items under “exchange,” , “office” keychain access (i had nothing under adal), , deleted profile.  re-installed scratch –including os sierra—after replacing hard drive.  message came back, however.  called microsoft support , told contact company’s department.  problem cannot make case department exchange problem.  installed outlook on windows 10 in same manner installed outlook mac.  outlook on windows 10 never generates error message.  only outlook mac does.  clearly, problem has nothing exchange server connect to.  suggestions appreciated.

thank post. understand have cleared keychain, deleted profile , have reinstalled outlook.

 

i ask information narrow down issue:

1.) check if can access account in outlook on web (owa) using current account credentials on mac computer.

2.) please provide detailed steps on how install office 2016 mac. suggest use portal installer. can refer article.

3.) try reset username , password. if not admin, please involve them.

4.) the detailed outlook mac version, example 15.29 (170104). and mac os version (apple icon > mac > overview > provide os version details). 

5.) provide troubleshoot logs after reproducing error.

 

send troubleshooting logs following steps: 

1. in outlook, go "tool"> “sync errors” > gear icon > “turn on logging” 

2. restart , "leave logging on" , reproduce issue.  

3. finder, under go menu> go folder ~/library/containers/com.microsoft.outlook/data/library/logs 

4. copy logs , send in this private message link.  

5. turn off logging after that

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community

i have 3 rules in outlook 2013 installation set when email arrives check words in body, subject or header.  the rules not seem run automatically.  when run rules manually seem work fine.  i've had problem quite while.  recently, created new outlook profile did not fix issue.  i went , changed srs file srs.old did not fix either. please provide me suggestions fix. hi neil, in order isolate issue, we'd following information: have made recent changes or applied update device prior issue? which email account using? personal email account or work email account? for initial troubleshooting, suggest deleting rules , create again. this, may refer article below: manage email messages using rules looking forward response.
