i have macbook air , imac, both updated macos , microsoft office, both failing authentication icloud account - "mail not received @ time" authentication failed.
i have checked , not have two-factor authentication on. can access icloud account via safari.
i have tried rebuilding identity.
any other ideas gratefully received!

hi all,
based on research , test, need turn on the 2-steps verification generate app-specific password if add icloud account in outlook mac client.
after generating app-specific password, please follow below steps check imap settings:
- imap information incoming mail server
- server name: imap.mail.me.com
- ssl required: yes
- port: 993
- username: full icloud email address .
- password: app-specific password.
- smtp information outgoing mail server
- server name: smtp.mail.me.com
- ssl required: yes
- port: 587
- smtp authentication required: yes
- username: your full icloud email address
- password: app-specific password.
may confirm whether way can resolve issue? please feel free let know @ convenience.
