Incomplete search results in Outlook 2016 - Microsoft Community

when searching within outlook, results incomplete. i've re-indexed, described in forum below, no improvements.

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/reset-indexing-by-rebuilding-your-instant-search-catalog-213a2728-0ef4-427a-9bb2-aed329a59b17

the last part of article states "if rebuilding search catalog doesn't correct search problem , retrieve expected search results, see instant search not finding items expect for additional information."

when follow link, pertains archived emails, not issue. issue newer emails received after 1st search result.  say, search "omaha" , 1st result email received @ 7:45am yesterday, know have emails i've received in same thread more 7:45am yesterday.

i'm using windows 7 , outlook 2016 both on local machine, not via browser.

hi n.alexander,

do mean number of results searched incorrectly? if so, suggest choose outlook items search scope check. if number still incorrect, can  click more button check again.

moreover, can try click file > options > search > uncheck the improve search speed limiting number of results shown option. detailed information, please see link below:

https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/thomsven/2013/03/01/how-to-get-complete-search-results-in-outlook-2013/

if not, please provide detailed steps doing search , capture screenshots results further assistance.

to better understand situation, we'd confirm following information below:

  1. can tell account used, office 365, gmail, yahoo, icloud or others? can check via email address, *** email address removed privacy ***, *** email address removed privacy ***, etc.
  2. if use office 365 account, have tried clicking find more on server button check issue?

thanks time.

regards,

rudy
