Outlook 2016 freezes when adding IMAP account (POP3 works - Microsoft Community


hello, had imap account set in outlook 2016.

one day due synchronisation errors, of emails went missing.

so, decided remove imap account , add again.

it's outlook.com email linked own domain.

like, *** email address removed privacy *** , can logged in via outlook.com

so, made new profile "mail" option in control panel , decided set again.

but don't know why, whenever click "next" after inserting details, part it's supposed check account details, outlook stops responding , gets stuck forever.

i have tried following solutions far:

1. remove old profile completely.

2. reinstall entire microsoft office.

3. tried using pop3 works popé not synchronise sent box , absolutely important me have emails sent box. if had no use of had used pop3.

please help,

nothing critical, warnings.

nevermind, found workaround (not fix).

1. remove profiles.

2. boot in safe mode with​ networking.

3. open outlook , setup email.

4. when click next after putting in login info, wait 10 minutes.

5. after 10 minutes test account window pop , validate settings.

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community

i have 3 rules in outlook 2013 installation set when email arrives check words in body, subject or header.  the rules not seem run automatically.  when run rules manually seem work fine.  i've had problem quite while.  recently, created new outlook profile did not fix issue.  i went , changed srs file srs.old did not fix either. please provide me suggestions fix. hi neil, in order isolate issue, we'd following information: have made recent changes or applied update device prior issue? which email account using? personal email account or work email account? for initial troubleshooting, suggest deleting rules , create again. this, may refer article below: manage email messages using rules looking forward response.
