Office 365 Outlook 2016 Connection to BT Server Failed - Microsoft Community


i many others including sister have suffered , continue suffer office 365 outlook 2016 continuously displaying pop box requesting input of bt email server password, as the password entered  input box reappears, , happens no matter how input password.

i've setup bt account in outlook per advised in url

i'm using office 365 personal.

myself , many others have been experiencing problem years, works fine ages, problem returns, i've experienced problem outlook 2007 , 2016, problem lasts few hours, , @ others lasts days.

microsoft , bt/yahoo need , sort out once , forever.

failing method of transferring email addresses 1 isp / software provider / other email service provider, needs put in place, similar transferring phone numbers between suppliers.

the ms link quote refers setting an  ms exchange mail account, not mail account provided third party.

the bt mail account believe imap type , such in new mail account dialogue use auto setup enter mail account address & password, account auto detected.

its case internet security utility can cause problems such experience.

this isn't ms or outlook issue, caused either system & installed utilities or bt issue

you can use ms utility run against outlook see if finds problems.

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community

i have 3 rules in outlook 2013 installation set when email arrives check words in body, subject or header.  the rules not seem run automatically.  when run rules manually seem work fine.  i've had problem quite while.  recently, created new outlook profile did not fix issue.  i went , changed srs file srs.old did not fix either. please provide me suggestions fix. hi neil, in order isolate issue, we'd following information: have made recent changes or applied update device prior issue? which email account using? personal email account or work email account? for initial troubleshooting, suggest deleting rules , create again. this, may refer article below: manage email messages using rules looking forward response.
