Outlook is blocking access to some PDF files - Microsoft Community


hi everyone,

in our environment use windows 7 professional sp1 microsoft office professional 2010 (outlook 365). users have started reporting .pdf files being blocked outlook error message:

"outlook blocked access following potentially unsafe attachments:"

it appears random, both internal , external messages being blocked. added couple of senders safe senders list in hopes clear up; however, did not work. ideas? in advance!

i'm seeing others have problem when there 2 .. before pdf extension

in case, have 1 . long filename, ms drops part of file name , inserts dots , seems cause program detect issue see 2 dots before pdf extension.

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community

i have 3 rules in outlook 2013 installation set when email arrives check words in body, subject or header.  the rules not seem run automatically.  when run rules manually seem work fine.  i've had problem quite while.  recently, created new outlook profile did not fix issue.  i went , changed srs file srs.old did not fix either. please provide me suggestions fix. hi neil, in order isolate issue, we'd following information: have made recent changes or applied update device prior issue? which email account using? personal email account or work email account? for initial troubleshooting, suggest deleting rules , create again. this, may refer article below: manage email messages using rules looking forward response.
