Outlook 2016 Search Not Working in Cached Exchange Mode - Microsoft Community


while using outlook 2016 couple users in our environment having hard time searching contacts/tasks. able find these contacts , tasks looking them search function not work.

so far here have tried on multiple people , yielded same results:

-clean install of office 2016

-rebuilding index while making sure microsoft outlook 2016 checked in indexed locations

-deleting mailbox .pst

-running outlook 2016 in safe mode

-running scanpst

i have tried these in few different orders. such deleting pst, running scanpst, , rebuilding index. on forth. 

(note: rebuilding index seems fix in mailbox new contact/task or email added past rebuild not searchable. old contacts not searchable regardless. rebuilding index every time new task or contact made, or once day not viable solution.)

the thing can make search work turning off cached exchange mode making search online rather locally. have deduced problem have cached exchange mode not indexing items or @ all. right have option of using cached exchange mode , having fast working inbox unable use search function. or have cached exchange mode off, have ability search works lot slower. 

there can make searching in cached exchange mode work? or have wait microsoft resolve?
