Outllook 2016 for Mac: use a Gmail account as Exchange account - Microsoft Community


i have followed instructions reported at link in order configure exchange account in outlook 2016 mac.

i want add gmail account exchange account.

i don't want use imap because want synchronize calendar , contacts.

so have tried configure exchange account, setting "server" field "m.google.com".

the account seems correctly recognized: description , full name correctly resolved, doesn't work: no synchronization, no errors, nothing happens.

the account has not green icon: visible yellow icon instead.

what missing? have left advanced options of exchange account default.

how make works in windows os?

based on knowledge, it’s not feasible set gmail account via exchange in outlook mac. , mentioned, calendars, notes, tasks , contacts cannot synced when gmail account configured via imap in outlook mac. here relevant article reference:

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community

i have 3 rules in outlook 2013 installation set when email arrives check words in body, subject or header.  the rules not seem run automatically.  when run rules manually seem work fine.  i've had problem quite while.  recently, created new outlook profile did not fix issue.  i went , changed srs file srs.old did not fix either. please provide me suggestions fix. hi neil, in order isolate issue, we'd following information: have made recent changes or applied update device prior issue? which email account using? personal email account or work email account? for initial troubleshooting, suggest deleting rules , create again. this, may refer article below: manage email messages using rules looking forward response.
