Outlook 15.34 on Mac - Sorting by name not working. - Microsoft Community


i'm having issues 'sort name' functionality. 

different mails same person appear in 2 different places in view - instance:

smith, jon

mail 1

mail 2

mail 3

....

*** email address removed privacy ***

mail 4

mail 5

....

does have ideas how reset or fix please?

unfortunately, failed duplicate issue in lab. may try 2 methods below check if help.

  1. clear exchange folder cache in outlook 2016 mac
  2. if issue still unresolved, filter may corrupted, may need follow these steps reindex spotlight index:
  1. restart mac, restarts spotlight services.
  2. navigate finder > applications > utilities > terminal.
  3. type mdimport -l.
  4. important: if see more 1 instance of "microsoft outlook spotlight importer.mdimporter," delete outlook application not using, empty trash, restart mac, , go step 1.
  5. in terminal, reindex outlook database by using following command , substituting own user name <user_name> placeholder:

    mdimport -g "/applications/microsoft outlook.app/contents/library/spotlight/microsoft outlook spotlight importer.mdimporter" -d1 “/users/<user_name>/library/group containers/ubf8t346g9.office/outlook/outlook 15 profiles/<my_profile_name>” 

    note in command, path after "-g" default path of outlook installation. path after "-d1" default path of profile, <my_profile_name> is, default “main profile." you'll have substitute actual paths if have renamed profile or installed outlook in different location.
  6. reindexing take time complete. after process complete, exit , restart outlook.  

i'd confirm following if above don't work you:

  1. does issue occur on specific sender? if so, contact locate, in gal or created personally?
  2. the detailed steps how duplicate behavior. 
  3. if possible, please set account on different mac machine check if issue disappear?

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community

i have 3 rules in outlook 2013 installation set when email arrives check words in body, subject or header.  the rules not seem run automatically.  when run rules manually seem work fine.  i've had problem quite while.  recently, created new outlook profile did not fix issue.  i went , changed srs file srs.old did not fix either. please provide me suggestions fix. hi neil, in order isolate issue, we'd following information: have made recent changes or applied update device prior issue? which email account using? personal email account or work email account? for initial troubleshooting, suggest deleting rules , create again. this, may refer article below: manage email messages using rules looking forward response.
