Permanently deleting GMail/All Mail Outlook items in Office 365 - Microsoft Community


i'm using office 365 on windows laptop windows 7 professional operating system. linked gmail account outlook , subfolders imported, every time move item mail folder subfolder, or try move trash, goes subfolder , 10 seconds later comes mail folder, creating duplicate.  it had strikethrough option didn't have see items in inbox, when switched laptops , began using online office 365 version, things changed.  i no longer see trash file under mail folder; above in gmail folder in outlook.  too confusing!  is easy without having spend hours upon hours of troubleshooting should simple.  i don't want duplicates.  i'm trying keep inbox clean.  does know how stop this?

this may happening because of how account set in outlook. please answer things can correct problem:

  • is account configured pop/imap?
  • did problem start after installing updates?

let's see if unchecking leave copy of messages on server option in outlook can resolve issue. doing allow affected computer not redownload messages folders. see page learn more how can configure outlook on multiple computers.

you can try repair outlook if first suggestion not work. require reconfigure account.
