successfully changed another person outlook password without knowing - Microsoft Community


hi

i noticed can able change person outlook password without knowing password.

then later tried below process , successful changed password.

exmaple. asked friend create email account created  *** email address removed privacy *** .

1. *** email address removed privacy ***

2. *** email address removed privacy ***(hacker)- knows 1st person outlook email . don't know password

then 2nd person tried below process change 1st person email password.

  1. enter outlook email
  2. clik on forgot password
  3. click on forgot password
  4. then click on don’t have above.
  5. on recover account page have entered gmail account not related peter account
  6. i got security code on gmail account
  7. when entered security on recovery page, changed peter outlook password.

hello,

this idea make sure our email account secured , not access anyone. based on steps have done, seems gmail account got security code recover password associated xyz@outllook.com. reason why receive recovery code.

however, have article make accounts more secured. check out link: protect microsoft account. give tips on how create strong password. also, if ever think account has been hacked, can refer page: outlook.com account has been hacked. page has several steps follow on how recover accounts.

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community

i have 3 rules in outlook 2013 installation set when email arrives check words in body, subject or header.  the rules not seem run automatically.  when run rules manually seem work fine.  i've had problem quite while.  recently, created new outlook profile did not fix issue.  i went , changed srs file srs.old did not fix either. please provide me suggestions fix. hi neil, in order isolate issue, we'd following information: have made recent changes or applied update device prior issue? which email account using? personal email account or work email account? for initial troubleshooting, suggest deleting rules , create again. this, may refer article below: manage email messages using rules looking forward response.
