i have mailbox cloud based on office 365 synchronised on-premises, want enable archiving on mailbox. mailbox has office 365 business essentials license exchange online archiving exchange online license.
whenever go admin settings mailbox on exchange online admin centre , try enable in-place archiving following message:
'the following error occurred during validation in agent "windows liveid agent": can't enable archive (mailbox name) because user object synchronised on-premises directory. enable cloud-based archive mailbox user, must use on-premises exchange admin centre or exchange management shell'
the user connected mailbox connected our on-premises active directory (not azure), not have on premises exchange admin centre or exchange server our accounts cloud based. how can enable archiving mailbox??
