i use "done" feature lot, , when occurs, hides e-mails default search of "current mailbox"
i changed default search location using file>options>search>results , selecting "all mailboxes" default.
no dice.
i've restarted computer , default search location still listed "current mailbox" when outlook opened or change folders.
the options setting still shows "all mailboxes" selected. screenshot below when clicked on "inbox" , compared actual setting in options.

i'd confirm whether outlook client has "all mailboxes" button.
try open outlook in safe mode rule out third party software interface: hold ctrl key , meanwhile open outlook client.
additionally, let me know outlook client version details: click file> office account. screenshot appreciated.
