OfficeClickToRun.exe Random Error. - Microsoft Community

while using computer - microsoft office not open or being used - receive error popup @ random.  the file path reporting issue is:


c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\clicktorun\officeclicktorun.exe


error states:

windows cannot access specified device, path, or file.  you may not have appropriate permissions access item.

i cannot find information online detailing why might receiving error.
