My outlook (office 365) sometimes generate a .wmz attachment - Microsoft Community


my outlook (office 365) generate .wmz attachment when sending out emails. file name of attachment image001.wmz or image003.wmz. 8kb size each. kaspersky endpoint security 10 did not detect trojan/virus or malware. how resolve .wmz issue?

this .wmz file added means (or sender) using word editor , have configured add header, footer or otherwise customized template. can mean using stationery white or clear image.

  1. Hi, I think it has to do with how you transfer your content into the blank email template. Usually this issue happens when I copy and paste directly into an email and then send that version out. As an experiment, first save the email in a folder. Once this has been saved attach this to another as an attachment to your email and send to yourself. There should be no errors at this point, and you can check for yourself. Then with the attachment you receive, go to the tools menu above and try to forward the email to whoever you want or yourself. See if it works.
