Outlook search limited to 1000 items only - Microsoft Community

i've had consistent issue outlook 2016 , searching emails. i'm using office 365 business premium. problem when enter search query (for know should produce lot of results), results come limited 1000 exactly. far have tried following:

- set account in outlook 2016 on several computers. no change.

- options -> search -> "improve search speed limiting number of results shown" not checked

- delete microsoft outlook indexing options, restart computer, re-add it

- delete , rebuild c:\programdata\microsoft index

the account in cached mode, meaning messages downloaded exchange server.

when scroll down far enough, can see messages search did not show.

finally, loaded account in outlook 2016 on mac. search worked correctly here. same search query produced on 16,000 results, expectation.

this appears consistently not work on outlook 2016 windows 8/8.1/10. am i missing anything? how can fix this?

outlook 2016 search query issue caused temporary issue application. can use article to install run diagnostic , repair. read , follow instructions resolve issue.
