outlook issue - Microsoft Community

when create e-mail in outlook, resides in outbox until start program.  there anyway have email sent without opening actual outlook program? example excel sheet send via e-mail directly recipient, not leave outbox until outlook program initiated.

problem can occur if send when connected option not enabled. when problem occurs, message remains in outbox folder until manually initiate send/receive operation or open program.

refer following steps re-enable send when connected option:

1. on file tab, click options.
2. in outlook options dialog box, click advanced.
3. in send , receive section, click enable send when connected.
4. click ok.

note: if unable re-enable setting because grayed out, setting being managed group policy. in situation, please contact administrator have group policy removed.
