i have user experiencing exact same issue in office 2016. have open case microsoft. ended rolling older version of 2016 , i'm waiting hear user...

ms, know edge case because not many people search using methodology users super annoyed.

there several factors why experiencing said issue. 1 of probable reason outlook 2016 isn't updated. windows has released fixes via windows updates address reliability issue in windows search. can click link for relevant kb update.

keep updated if comes can further assist you.

Outlook Rules not Running Automatically - Microsoft Community

i have 3 rules in outlook 2013 installation set when email arrives check words in body, subject or header.  the rules not seem run automatically.  when run rules manually seem work fine.  i've had problem quite while.  recently, created new outlook profile did not fix issue.  i went , changed srs file srs.old did not fix either. please provide me suggestions fix. hi neil, in order isolate issue, we'd following information: have made recent changes or applied update device prior issue? which email account using? personal email account or work email account? for initial troubleshooting, suggest deleting rules , create again. this, may refer article below: manage email messages using rules looking forward response.
