Outlook for MAC 2011 - Microsoft Community

since few days cannot open outlook mail on mac. message (in dutch language) when starting outlook: 'there unknown failure in outlook '. other applications word, excel , powerpoint working well. 

how can handle this? there repair possibility? connection database corrupt?

the procedure 'rebuilding outlook mac 2011 resolve problems' hasn't effect!

try referring following steps troubleshoot issue:
1.    quit applications , close windows.
2.    move outlook preferences desktop.
move outlook preferences desktop, follow these steps:
a)    quit applications.
b)    on go menu, click home.
c)    open library.
note: library folder hidden in mac os x lion. display folder, hold down option key while click go menu.

d)    open preferences, , drag following files desktop:
a)    com.microsoft.outlook.plist
b)    com.microsoft.outlook.database_daemon.plist
c)     com.microsoft.outlook.database_utility.plist
d)    com.microsoft.outlook.office_reminders.plist
e)

   com.microsoft.outlook.syncservicespreferences.plist

note: if cannot find 1 of these files, continue next. of these files may not have been created if outlook feature not used.
3.    move microsoft user data folder desktop.
microsoft user data folder contains user information microsoft office. includes outlook database. move microsoft user data folder desktop, follow these steps:
a)    quit applications.
b)    on go menu, click documents.
c)    drag microsoft user data folder desktop.
d)    start outlook.
if can start outlook without problem, problem may related outlook database.

4.    use different user account test outlook.
sometimes, specific user's information may become corrupted. determine whether case, can sign in different user or create new user account, , test application.

5.    download , install latest office updates.
obtain updates office mac applications, follow these steps:
a)    start office mac application.
b)    on help menu, click check updates.
c)    click check updates in microsoft autoupdate dialog box.
