hi,
i'm using ms project 2013 , need column calendar days project start. there prior posting on site it, i've tried suggestions without success. (ie; have used custom field formula suggested)
any suggestions appreciated.
thank you,
tim
tim,
i'm not sure suggestions tried work
text1=datediff("d",[project start],[start]) & " days"
attempting customize formula duration field (i.e. duration1) more complicated because duration fields pre-formatted display duration based on user's options setting definition of "day". default, "day" 8 hours. example, in simple plan shown in screen shot below project start date 1/2/17. both duration1 , text1 fields have been customized display calendar days project start. text1 field uses straighforward formula above. duration1 field needs following formula (assuming default definition "day"):
duration1=datediff("d",[project start],[start])*1440/3
why 1440/3 "fudge factor"? noted above duration1 field pre-formatted must re-formatted display want. there 1440 seconds in 24 hour "day" existing duration1 format needs first converted minutes. there 3 "8" hour periods in 24 hour "day" resulting value needs divided 3 such end result in calendar "days".
hope helps.
