cannot rebuild index - Microsoft Community


my outlook 2016 index stopped working. try rebuild index after 10 seconds, program me 195,655 items have been indexed.  of course not true.   see no rei-ndexing going on , take more 10 seconds.,

i need help.  outlook main 'go to' program , outlook pst file 6.8 gb.

a few possible reasons can cause of issue. identify cause of problem, know following information:

  • what particular task trying perform when experiencing issue?
  • are having issues searching emails , contacts?
  • do receive error messages when opening outlook? if yes, exact error message?
  • have made changes outlook before experiencing issue?

in meantime, suggest repair outlook. scans corruptions in office system files , restores corrupted files.

keep updated on status of issue, , glad assist further.
