Cannot see Attached files in outlook 365 for Mac OS X Yosemite - Microsoft Community


dear all,

 i have 1 imac computer yosemite. during 1 year use office 365 , cool product, but.....:( -  after last automatic update of microsoft outlook cannot see attached files. when mail, example, mcdonalds attached file comes may e-mail on imac instead attached word or excel files have 1 file  - *.dat. size 65 kb.

when forward mail personal gmail mail -  there can see attached files in word or excel format. why happens ?

by way, when forward mail gmail again  to corporate mail in outlook on imac -  i can  see attached files. start 1 week, before ...:(

what can do?...

thanks updates.

based on description, issue more caused reasons gary has listed above. please confirm whether senders using outlook windows client. if yes, let 1 of them try following steps , let know result:
1. on sender’s outlook client, click file > options > mail.

2. click drop-down icon after compose messages in format option , select plain text.

3. click ok to save change.

4. send test email attachment , can check whether same issue occurs.

if issue persists, need information below further troubleshooting:
1. detailed versions of outlook mac client , mac os.

2. screenshot .dat file on outlook client.
