Instant search stops working in Outlook 2016 - Microsoft Community


seems issue of clients still using pop mail. example 1 user had instant search stop working few weeks ago. after remoting in check out, determined pst file needed maintenance did following fix search issue.

  • ran scanpst on data file
  • after completed did rebuild on index

it working fine few weeks , today emailed me had same problem. since have done steps above tried other options:

  • updated office version build 1702 1703
  • checked "windows search" service make sure running , set automatic. was
  • did "quick repair" on ms office 2016 via control panel

instant search working few hours , reported "no results" again. there bug within instant search outlook 2016? should not have scan , repair on pst , rebuild index every few weeks.
