opening earlier Outlook message when draft exists - Microsoft Community


here recurring problem. i'm in outlook 365, , i've composed draft message in response message had attachment, but, before send, need @ attachment original message. when try open message/see attachment it, can't so, because draft message appears on top, no way see original attachments.

if don't show message arranged conversations, outlook client doesn't show email attachment when replying email default. 

you can submit feedback via following link:

to achive goal, can try following methods temporary workaround:

method 1: while editing new email, click "pop-out" button open new message in separate window.

now original email available view attachments.

method 2: click on view >conversation settings , select >always expand conversations.

shows individual items accessible attachments still grouped conversation.

please note these 2 methods need set "reading pane" "right" or "bottom"(not "off").
