OUTLOOK 2016 attachment not showing in sent items - Microsoft Community

hi all,

exactly same problem existed in outlook 2013: if message sent computer linked same e-mail account , listed among sent items on first computer, looks right. if message sent same computer different outlook profile linked same e-mail account , listed on first outlook profile, problem disappears. so, problem arises if message both sent , listed among sent items on same outlook profile. in other situations, looks fine.

even more, if outlook in offline mode, message stays in outbox folder visible attachment icon , correct length. when switched switch online mode, second or less before message moves sent items folder, attachment icon disappears , message length changes 0.

suddenly, after installing november update outlook 2013 (kb3101488), in sent items looked fine (attachment icon , message size became visible).

because same problem still exists in outlook 2016, believe ms “accidentally” solved problem in outlook 2013 unaware problem existed.

in addition, 1 more missing thing in outlook 2016: there still no possibility download message header using imap, makes outlook useless on slow, “metered” connections.

hi simple home user,

in test, i send emails attachment account on same outlook profile in outlook client 16.0.6965.2117 using office 365 account, and everything works fine.

i need following information troubleshooting:

  1. how download outlook client 2016?
  2. the detailed steps you did to send emails attachments reproduce issue.
  3. is account configured via imap protocol?

regarding “there still no possibility download message header using imap, makes outlook useless on slow”, answer yes. can download message headers accounts pop protocol or accounts automatically configured, , imap protocol cannot achieve goal.

additionally, downloading complete message instead of header idea speed outlook clients. in way, outlook won’t have sync server or online every time have been in data file.

many factors cause outlook client running such network , emails quantities.

i suggest you open outlook in safe mode holding ctrl key when start client.

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
