Outlook 2016 - frequent .ost corruption - Microsoft Community

i have same problems awalters.cawast.org has been having. it's interesting mention network reliability, recent time happened (about hour ago), had enabled vpn office home when every .ost file started reporting corruption. it's guess connecting vpn made connection "hiccup" enough corrupt files. guess in future, i'll make sure close outlook before switching on or off vpn, serious oversight, flagship product outlook.

as is, had delete every .ost file (i have personal hotmail.com account, , office 365 business account, , gmail account through university i'm phd student.), , forced complete delete outlook profile , create new one, since gmail .ost file tell me had remove email account, i'd removed.

microsoft team,

this absolutely unacceptable. travel work, unstable connections on airplanes, in hotels, , on-site clients. momentary instability shouldn't cause problem, , connecting vpn through windows vpn client absolutely shouldn't cause problem either. said, know fix , have theory on how avoid problem, needs solved, if microsoft going force latest , "greatest" version on default. never had problem when on outlook 2013.

creating new profile , mail accounts create new associated data files, option whether delete used data files

i cannot i've ever experienced corruption of data files, using 2 ex accounts
