Can't attach files when clicking mailto link in body of email - Microsoft Community

i have same issue on windows 10  , april 2017 , can see no resolution microsoft.

i trying attach 300kb compressed photo.

the original thread mail-to issue on outlook mac , it’s solved in version 15.31. since problem on windows 10, we’d collect following information troubleshooting:

1. what’s detailed version of outlook client? navigate file > office account check it. looks version 1609 (build 7369.2120).

2. see error message when attach photo? if yes, catch screenshot of error message , send us.

3. when click mail-to email address in outlook client, new email windows pop-up?

4. photo located, in local computer or cloud place?

in addition, please try using outlook web app account use mail-to feature. can check if problem related outlook client. also, try attaching type of file, word, check if problem related attachment.

meanwhile, add attachment newly created email without clicking mailto link? if so, recommend manually copy mail-to email address email message body, create new email message , paste recipient workaround.
