Outlook 2016 search result limited to 75 items - Microsoft Community


i've read , tested few solutions problem, none of them seem work:

my outlook search (desktop) returns 75 recent items matching search query.

owa returns expected.

advanced search (search tools > advanced find...) works intended (that workaround it's cumbersome use!)

my outlook settings are:

- improve search speed limiting number of results shown - unchecked

- account syncing set all

- outlook included in indexing

- indexing status: 0 items indexed

the result list finishes "searching..." text, nothing happens, i'm stuck 75 results.

it's possible search option on outlook app limited because of email server configuration. provide appropriate troubleshooting steps on concern, we’d ask few questions: 

  • when did issue start?
  • what domain of email account?
  • which mail server using? imap, pop3, exchange active sync or microsoft exchange? check, open outlook > click file > account settings , click account settings again > under type, you’ll see there mail server you’re using.

meanwhile, suggest perform online repair on office programs refresh outlook application settings. this, check article.
