email has been working fine week, today, error code -3253 connection server failed or dropped

nothing has changed in settings, can't retrieve or send emails.

can offer guidance?

i had issue today , fixed this.

run update!

  1. inside outlook - >check updates
  2. download , apply updates office products, not outlook.
  3. outlook 15.34 current @ time of post
  4. close outlook installation
  5. open outlook
  6. edit connection settings - outlook > preferences > accounts
  7. find mail profile issue
  8. check spelling of incoming , outgoing mail servers - eg mail.domain.com
  9. tick "use ssl" incoming , out
  10. check ports 993 , 465
  11. if not above, click override tick box , type them in - 993 , 465
  12. it doesn't matter if mail server accepts secure connections or not, try connect securely then fall insecure port 25 if needed.
  13. click more settings button
  14. authentication - use incoming settings
  15. ok main screen
  16. click send n receive
  17. accept certificate pop ups - yes trust type messages

know if there way insert attachment (e.g., document) within meeting invite not own. example, vp creates meeting invite managers quick touch base.  the managers attach document invitees may view 'summary' while being discussed).  is possible invitee include attachment? hello janice, you can send attachment meetings got invited in outlook 2016. can insert attachment going event go insert tab select attach file . click send update send meeting updates, including attachment. let know if need further assistance.
