How can I find the advanced server settings for an account in Outlook - Microsoft Community


i trying set email account on laptop, using outlook 2016. trying set automatically fails, don't know server names put in set manually - "cannot find email server" error.

the email account works fine using outlook on both android phone , on ipad, can't find anywhere view actual account server settings are, can copy settings laptop. tapping on "advanced settings" brings email address(es) associated account.

advanced setting show details when have use settings add account app. firstly know kind of email account using, office 365 account or non-office 365 account gmail account.
generally, auto setup in outlook client can used limited email services office 365, outlook.com etc.
if using third party email account, need contact support of third party email service generate detailed settings.
