Unread messages are coming up as read - Microsoft Community

whenever receive new messages through outlook, show 'read' before i've opened them. should do?

about issue, please try following steps:

1. sign account’s web application, send test email , check email status. before doing this, please disconnect outlook client , merely use web mail application.

2. change network environment, wi-fi, check if issue persists.

 

in addition, please provide following information us:

a. detailed version of outlook mac 2016 client , mac os. on top menu, click outlook > outlook. looks 15.30 (170107). apple menu, choose mac check mac version, looks 10.12(16a323).

b. type of email account use, office 365 account, gmail account, hotmail.com account or other account?

c. have configured email account on other machines, iphone, ipad? maybe have open these affected emails on machines.

d. check “mark mail read” configuration in outlook > preferences > reading , let know option selected.
