microsoft outlook mac 2011 wants me download 750 old emails, how can stop please?

for question "app nap", suggest check box "prevent app nap". 

for question "pop or imap", common issue outlook mac 2011 yahoo account keeping downloading same emails on , over. can find similar thread there. in situation, suggest add account client via pop.mail.yahoo.com incoming server mentioned above. imap made synchronize mail server unlike pop, downloads , deletes. given has used pop protocol long time, can keep using avoid other issues occurring.
