Outlook Inbox not syncing - Microsoft Community


i got new office 365 email account.

i set new account in outlook 2016 , going fine.

then exported emails, calendar ect. old outlook.com email address , imported them new email account in office. set old email account redirect emails new 365 email address.

now inbox in new 365 account not automatically sync in outlook 2016. if click update folder syncs (but slowly).

how can new email inbox in office 2016 automatically sync 365 inbox?

firstly, suggest adding office 365 account client via exchange protocol rather imap or pop method.

secondly, click file> accounts settings> account settings> double click account> more settings> advanced> select "cached" mode. 

and then, try 1 of follow:

1. clear offline items: right-click folder, , click properties> click or tap clear offline items, , click ok> on outlook’s ribbon, go the send / receive tab> click or tap on update folder.

2. delete ost files: locate .ost going to file -> info -> account settings -> account settings -> data files tab, data files used outlook listed locations. can click or tap on open file location… to directly locate .ost. file location .ost @ following location:c:\users\<user name>\appdata\local\microsoft\outlook.
