Email address type changed to Invalid when saved as Draft - Microsoft Community

tested in office 2010 , 2016 standard

consider following scenario reproduce:

open new excel/word document , type name of someone's email address.

the link turns blue expected.

click on link, email created email address in to: box.

type data in subject , body.

close email , save draft email.

open mail , click send button.

you receive instantaneous email bounce being rejected due to email type being invalid

delivery has failed these recipients or groups:

*** email address removed privacy *** (invalid:*** email address removed privacy ***)
this message rejected recipient email system. please check recipient's email address , try resending message, or contact recipient directly.

i have reviewed lots of other posts similar symptoms, originate external website links, others 3rd party software such sage50.  have tested , found isn't 3rd party software or mailto: type in email link.  outlook changing type invalid most because cannot confirm address.

some solutions suggest delete autocomplete entries, turn off autocomplete, turn off automatic name checking , fill address book possible entries but find these workarounds unacceptable.

can review , let me know if missing , there way can request microsoft address in update?

i have employees create draft messages during week queue them , later send them.

environment:

office 2010 standard
