Outlook 2016 Upgrade - Microsoft Community


i upgraded outlook for windows 2016 mso (16.0.7329.1032) 32 bit sometime around jan19th .  we use office 365 , working fine outlook.  then on jan20th, 2017 outlook for windows client stopped connecting office 365.

the same user name , password works when connect using web mail (login.microsoftonline.com), gives me authentication error when trying connect outlook .  i able connect on android phone using same password.

i have tried passwords multiple times not accept it.  suggestion correct ?

hi mike,

after configuring account in outlook client , selecting ‘save password’, account’s credential stored in windows credential manager. so, isolate whether issue related cache of windows credential manager, suggest clear account’s credential via following aspects:
1.    open command prompt of windows pc.
2.    run command rundll32.exe keymgr.dll,krshowkeymgr
after clearing credential, restart outlook 2016.

moreover, since can sign owa , android phone same password issue persists outlook 2016, can give shot on microsoft support , recovery assistant office 365 (choose problems outlook).

if issue persists, please provide detailed authentication error here further analysis.
