Separating The End of a Task from the Project's Finish Date - Microsoft Community

hi there!

i'm scheduling project finishing date, , have tasks required done before number of days finishing date of project (example: task 15 should done 5 days before finishing date of project).

how can this?

as trial, added task @ , of list 0 duration , specified it's date finishing date of project, linked related tasks , added lead / lag times (as shown in link: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/add-lead-or-lag-time-to-a-task-692fde75-0734-47b6-a259-e87aa1a538f4), dates of tasks not being changed automatically meet condition!

mohammad,

many users mistakenly believe planning project backwards need date idea , unfortunately project have option. in practice, reverse scheduling not idea more difficult. better plan project beginning, setting critical milestones necessary using deadline field, , reviewing @ plan see if meets end goal before setting in motion. if not, re-plan necessary meet end goal.

however, answer question, see following screen shot. note task link required between finish milestone , task must completed 5 days before milestone.

hope helps.

john
